The editor in chief for Entrepreneur, Jason Feifer, had this to say about how 2020 treated franchise businesses:
“It was a challenging year for everyone, but it was also a year of unusual opportunity. Franchises were able to be nimble and innovative, serving the needs of franchisees and customers in ways that will resonate for many years to come.”
A challenging year that offered opportunities to be nimble and innovative—we can all nod in agreement on that statement. And it’s one of the reasons we at Great Clips are so proud to have been ranked #13 overall and #1 in category in Entrepreneur magazine’s annual Franchisee 500®. The organization was ranked high for its outstanding performance in key areas, including unit growth, financial strength and stability, and brand power.
Might I add: in the middle of a pandemic, no less!
In a press release, Great Clips CEO Steve Hockett said, “We have always appreciated and embraced the incredible value in a 100% franchised model. And this past year strengthened our opinion that a franchise model is paramount to our joint success moving forward. This recognition by Entrepreneur reiterates that belief and we appreciate the opportunity to share this with our franchisees.”
As Director of Franchisee Development for Great Clips, my job is to help prospective franchisees figure out if investing in a salon franchise is a good match. Even in the middle of a pandemic, that work doesn’t stop. Right now, we’re working with dozens of prospective franchisees who are going through the initial steps of exploration. I’d love to hear from you, wherever you are on this journey. Give me a call!
