Franchise Development Managers
Great Clips wouldn’t be the successful hair salon franchise system that it is today without our dynamic team of knowledgeable Franchise Development Managers (FDM). Some of them have been with us for over 10 years—talk about a concept they believe in!

Steve Gemlo
Steve Gemlo has been in franchising since 1989, and started his Great Clips career in May 1999. Today, Steve is a Senior Franchise Development Manager with Great Clips. He has a passion for helping franchise candidates through our investigation process so that they can make an informed decision about our Great Clips opportunity. Over the last 10 years he has helped more than 250 franchisees decide that Great Clips is the best franchise fit. He and his wife Beatrice have been married 35 blissful years. They have two wonderful children Matt, 28, and Megan, 24, who remind them often how lucky they are.

Butch Gladden
Butch Gladden has been with Great Clips as a Franchise Development Manager since 2000. He has helped hundreds of people realize their dreams of business ownership and financial security. What Butch likes best about our Great Clips system is the supportive infrastructure that we provide to our franchisees. He also looks forward to attending our conventions where he can catch up with owners and share information. Butch enjoys golf, biking and traveling. He and Jeannie, his bride of 37 years, live in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, with their Bichon-Frise, Baxter. The Gladdens have two married children and several energetic grandchildren, whom they try to catch up with, too.

Laura Fridgen
Laura Fridgen started in the haircare business working in a salon. After acquiring a degree in Entrepreneurship at St. Thomas University in St Paul, Laura found her way to the Great Clips home office, starting as a Resale Coordinator. In 2008, she was promoted to Franchise Development Manager. Several family members are accomplished entrepreneurs, so it’s no wonder that Laura enjoys helping franchisees become successful business owners. In her spare moments, she enjoys traveling and spending time at the lake: water-skiing and boating. Laura lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Scott Neilson
Scott is a franchise lifer having spent 25 years in the industry, the last nine as Franchise Development Manager for Great Clips. For Scott, the people at Great Clips make it a great company, and what we do—helping individuals achieve their financial and lifestyle goals—makes it a fulfilling profession. Scott and his wife of 32 years, Michelle, live in Chandler, Arizona, 40 miles southeast of Phoenix. With six children, four married and two living at home, and nine grandchildren, family and church occupy most of their spare time. Scott is an avid sports fan and usually ends his day with a good book.
